In short it was good despite the reviews I had read on rottentomatoes.com and other sites that bashed it pretty hard. There were several really cheesy moments (just like in the first movie). I could see where this movie has shortfalls and plot holes but most do.

If there is one major star in this movie it’s the sound. I recommend anyone who is a fan of movies with huge sound effects going to see this movie in the theater. When the guns fire they hit hard and the impacts of the bullets and falls are even harder. The overall score and effects track give this movie and unprecedented visceral feel that I haven’t gotten since the first Matrix movie.

On the graphics side the movie as a whole delivers however there are a few scenes in the desert (before the final battle) where it looks almost like stop motion (and cheap stop motion at that). It was almost as if they had only so much money and blew most of that on the beginning and end sequences.

Overall I enjoyed the movie and recommend anyone who is a fan of Transformers sees it.
